We spend most of our lives trying to recenter ourselves, falling into the ebb and flow of disequilibrium back to homeostasis. As it is, our world is the embodiment of polarity. Black and white, good and evil; are the terms that rule. It can feel like a never ending game of tug of war when we are unable to find our inner peace and center ourselves. It is funny that we often say that there are no gray areas when, in fact, truth only lies within the gray.
Our universe is intelligent and along with human consciousness, it constantly strives to bring us all back to center; a place where there is no good or bad. Yet, because we are grounded in this realm of duality we have no choice but to experience the extremes, learning from them as we go. This is why when you feel you have just figured it all out, the pendulum swings and knocks you right back to the other side. Our goal here is to become aware of this pendulum ride so that we can consciously hold ourselves in the center, not giving in to the pull of either extreme.
It is not evil that plagues this world but rather imbalance, and the longer we inhabit one end of the extreme the harder it becomes to find peace.
The trickiest part is that the poles are not bad either but they are simply serving as a reflection that guides us on our path back to Source. It is almost as if we are walking in the dark trying to follow a narrow stream of light but continue to bump into the walls on either side. The walls may feel like a problem but really they are a reminder that we are headed in the wrong direction. Now this reminder may be quite gentle, or rather harsh, but this all depends on how vehemently you are heading off the path.
Remaining neutral does not mean that you are not aware of the walls. In fact, those that are well acquainted with the jarring impacts, on both sides, tend to be the ones who now follow the straightest path. The key is to remain aware of both side while staying focused on the light. To complicate things further, the light may not always be easy to see and you may just have to feel your way towards it, even when everyone around you is running from it. The path to truth is often risky, narrow, and can feel quite isolating at times. This is why it is important to know within your heart that eventually we all will end up in the exact same place, home.
I leave you with this. When I first incarnated on this plane my running mantra was “I know who I am.” I have memories, as early as two, of meditating on this simple, yet complex, statement. By the time I was around seven or eight, this mantra shifted to “God is good, the devil is bad.” My life’s goal seems to be to fully ground myself on this plane while finding my way back to that original mantra.
